CAN I PLACE HOLDS,PICK AND RETURN ITEMS?

Curbside pickup service is now available. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Reserve the items you want to borrow using our online catalog, or call the Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665 to request materials.
  2. Wait for a text message, email or phone call letting you know when your items are ready for pickup.
  3. Call 937.463.2665 to arrange for pickup at the Library of your choice. Curbside hours at all locations are Tuesday through Friday, 3 - 6 pm and Saturday, 12 - 3 pm.
  4. When you arrive, your bagged materials will be placed directly into your vehicle trunk, or you can pick up your marked bag at the Library entrance.

What about Returns? If you have Library materials to return, please place them directly into the Book Drop or Automated Materials Handler at your Branch Library. All returned items will be quarantined for four days. After quarantine, they will be checked in so that others may safely borrow them. The due date for anything borrowed prior to March 13 has been extended to June 30.

My library card is about to expire?

Don’t worry, we are automatically renewing card numbers. The Library has been automatically applying a temporary extension to cards that are expiring during our closed status and will continue to do so. If you have questions, please call our AskMe Line at 937-463-2665 (M-F, 10am - 4pm). Or, send us an email useing the form below with your specific questions.

What about my due/overdue items?

All items with a due date after February 1, 2020, are automatically renewed until we resume operations. If we remain closed, we will extend due dates again.

Please review the checklist below before using this form...

  • Make sure the item you are requesting is not already owned by Dayton Metro Library.
    If it is and all copies are checked out, please reserve the item online.

  • Make sure you do not owe $10.00 or more in fees.
    Check your account online (under Fees).

  • Please use your own personal Dayton Metro Library card.
    We cannot use an outreach card, classroom card, or Troy or Bradford Library cards.

  • If you wish to renew your Interlibrary Loan item please call (937) 496-8613 one week before the due date.

  • You may only have 10 inter-library loan requests at any given time.

  • You must be 18 years of age to use this service.

You must enter a valid e-mail for this form to work correctly.
Any additional info about the materials you would like to inter-library loan. ISSN for magazines, OCLC number if you know it.
