DML Holds 4th Annual Career Adventures Day

Career Adventures Day (CAD) returns to Dayton Metro Library Tuesday, November 28-Thursday, November 30. The Main Library will welcome 900 middle school students from Stivers School of the Arts, and Belmont, Edwin Joel Brown, Wogaman, Wright Brothers, and West Carrollton Middle Schools.

This year, CAD will three half-day sessions. Otherwise, the concept and purpose of CAD remains the same as it always has been: “… to introduce students to a variety of career fields in a fun and engaging manner as they begin planning their future academic paths,” explained Laura Chamberlain, DML’s Teen Services Coordinator. “Students will be able to engage in one-on-one conversations with representatives from in-demand career sectors such as healthcare, skilled trades, computer science, manufacturing, public service, logistics, manufacturing, and more.”

CAD is designed to support the Ohio Department of Education’s mission to create pathways for successful futures by allowing students a chance to explore a variety of careers. “From robots to virtual reality, drones to science demonstrations, and power tools to public service, students will also have a chance to try their hand at a variety of job-specific, hands-on activities,” Chamberlain added.
