DML’s Huber Branch Closing Its Doors May 6, 2023

Dayton Metro Library’s Huber Heights Branch, currently located at 6160 Chambersburg Road, will close its doors Saturday, May 6 – in order for preparations to begin for the opening of its new location in the Marion Plaza at 6243 Brandt Pike.

This new facility is the capstone project of Dayton Metro Library’s $187 million facilities upgrade, which has been made possible by voter support of the 2012 Libraries for a Smarter Future bond. It will be the second largest Branch in the Dayton Metro Library system, at 27,000 square feet, and it is estimated that it will also be an $11.8 million investment for the city of Huber Heights, as part of the redevelopment of the Marion Plaza.

Patrons are encouraged to visit the following nearby Branches for their Library needs while the transition to the new facility takes place: Vandalia, 330 S. Dixie Drive, Burkhardt, 4704 Burkhardt Ave, and E.C. Doren, 701 Troy Street.

The amenities at the Brandt Pike facility include: a flexible community room, a conference room, study rooms, a tutor room, a quiet reading area, a unique cultural commons area for gathering and performances, dedicated areas for children (with the theme “Larger Than Life”) and tweens, Teen EDGE with gaming consoles, computers and workspace with free Wi-fi, hold lockers for patrons, original ReImagining Works from local artists, and much more.

A Community Celebration and Grand Opening will be held Friday, June 2, from 3 - 6 pm, with regular operating hours resuming Monday, June 5. Stay tuned for more details to come.
