Explore Animals, Nature, and Gardening with DML


Dayton Metro Library will host a variety animal, nature, and gardening programs in September. Little ones can explore storytimes and hands-on programs and adult patrons can learn a few gardening tips.
Upcoming programs:

Miamisburg Branch Library
Nature Storytime at Sycamore Trails
Friday, September 2, and September 9, 10 - 11 am (For Pre-K/Kindergarteners)
Sycamore Trails Park is the setting for nature and environment themed tales. This program is presented in partnership with Miamisburg Parks and Recreation. Visit Playmiamisburg.com/register or call Parks and Rec at 937.866.8999 to register.

Kettering-Moraine Branch Library
Plant Swap
Saturday, September 3, 11 am - 12 pm (For Families and Adults)
Trade or give away harvest or plant propagations, plus meet other gardeners in the community and share gardening tips and information.

Burkhardt Branch Library
Family Storytime: Wild Outside
Wednesday, September 7, and October 5, 4 - 4:40 pm
Children ages 3-8 (but all ages will be welcome) can explore the outdoors with stories, songs, and activities with a different theme each month. September’s theme is “Ants on Parade,” and October is “Owl Pellets.”

Wilmington-Stroop Branch Library
Learning Tree Farm Comes to the Library!
Thursday, September 8, 3:30 - 4:30 pm (For Families, Pre-K/Kindergartners, and Grades 1-4)
Learning Tree Farm will bring a variety of farm animals for younger patrons to interact with. This program will be held outside, weather permitting but will be moved inside in case of inclement weather. Advanced registration is required.

Trotwood Branch Library
STEAM: Five Rivers MetroParks Wildlife Ambassadors
Tuesday, September 27, 6 - 7 pm (For Families and Pre-K-Tweens)
Young patrons will meet Box Turtles, the Gray Rat Snake, the Eastern Screech Owl, and the American Kestrel while learning about what makes the MetroParks special and how to help wildlife close to home.
