Dayton Metro Library recognizes that August can be a stressful time for tweens and teens as the summer ends and a new school year begins. However, DML has several programs that offer young adult patrons an opportunity to recharge, relax, and have fun. Below are several programs to help give tweens and teens a mental health boost:
Be-TWEEN You and ME! Tween Round Table
This roundtable-style program gives teens a space to talk about everyday life while receiving positive affirmations from peers AND making cool crafts.

Tween Tuesday: DIY Bath Bombs (registration required)
Tweens can make their own fizzy bath bomb.
Tuesday, August 9, 3 - 4 pm
Tween Tuesday: DIY Stress Ball (registration required)
Tweens can make their own squishy stress ball.
Tuesday, August 23, 3 - 4 pm
Zumba for Teens
Dance the stress away with a high-energy Zumba workout. Wear comfortable clothes. This program may be held outdoors, weather permitting.
Thursday, August 18, 4:30 - 6 pm
Teen Brain Break:
Take a break and try out different tips and techniques to help push the brain’s reset button when things feel overwhelming. This program is available at 3 locations:
