The Dayton Metro Library, the Greater Dayton RTA, and several summer providers including the Dakota Center, Wesley Community Center, Mini University, and the YMCA are celebrating National Summer Learning Day on Friday, June 20, by announcing new initiatives that will help more children use the Dayton Metro Library's 21 locations.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on June 20, Greater Dayton RTA will transport children to the Main Library in downtown Dayton to pick up new Summer Learning Library Cards, listen to stories and enjoy crafts and entertainment.

Community leaders who will greet the children and read to them at the Library include: Colleen Ryan, President Vectren, Tom Kelley, Assistant County Administrator, Commissioner Jeffery Mims, from Dayton City Commission, Tim Kambitsch, Executive Director of the Dayton Metro Library, and Mark Donaghy, Executive Director RTA.

Reporters are welcome to ride on the bus with the children and to interview them at the Library.
