What does Greg do? At first, the publisher of Three Cups of Tea insisted on this subtitle: "One Man's Mission to Fight Terrorism - One School at a Time."   When the book became an international bestseller, Greg changed the subtitle: "One Man's Mission to Promote Peace."   Greg helps build schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan because the real enemy is ignorance.

First lesson: get to the heart of what really needs to change.   Make your vision clear.

How did he get started? The first chapter of Three Cups of Tea is  called "Failure."   "Never start a book with failure!" Greg's publisher objected.   Actually, that's the ONLY place to start.   That lesson is especially hard for adults to accept.

Greg told the story of Zack Bonner, a 12-year old who's walking right now from Florida to California to help homeless children.    Anyone can help change the world for the better.

Where  did  Greg  get the money? After writing to every famous celebrity, Greg finally got his start-up funding from schoolchildren!  4,900 schools now support his charity, Pennies for Peace.   Greg Mortensen's new book is Stones Into Schools.
