A great leader passed away: Frederick C. Smith, who was honored last year with the Dayton  region's first National Philanthropy Day Lifetime Achievement Award.   We learned his three keys to success at that event: Focus. Patience. Persistence.   Mr. Smith  played a major role in the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton Foundation, United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, Montgomery County Human Services Levy, Job Center, and Sinclair Community College.   Read more about his contributions.
