A great leader passed away: Frederick C. Smith, who was honored last year with the Dayton region's first National Philanthropy Day Lifetime Achievement Award. We learned his three keys to success at that event: Focus. Patience. Persistence. Mr. Smith played a major role in the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton Foundation, United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, Montgomery County Human Services Levy, Job Center, and Sinclair Community College.
