In April, the United Way, Dayton Foundation and Montgomery County convened more than 200 nonprofit leaders to discuss how we can respond to diminishing financial support. An important follow-up report to that meeting is now posted on the United Way's website.
The latest round of grants was announced by CareSource Foundation, The Dayton Foundation, and the Miami County Foundation. A student-driven philanthropy project at Wright State University made grants to address poverty, food insecurity and homelessness.
10,000 Ohio nonprofits have lost their tax-exempt status because they did not comply with the IRS's new 990 reporting requirements. Most of these organizations were no longer active.
