New! Dayton Metro Library Teen Advisory Board

Seeking Teens to Serve on System Wide Board

Dayton Metro Library is seeking motivated teens to join its new system wide Teen Advisory Board (TAB). This group will meet quarterly in 2019 to brainstorm ideas for Library programs and contests, recommend the purchase of materials for teen interests, and help create more teen-friendly spaces in the Library.

“I want to get honest opinions directly from teens, so we can ensure we're offering what they want, not missing a need that teens have, and making the Library as appealing as possible for them,” said Steve Moser, Teen Services Coordinator. “I also want to hear their ideas how we can make the Library more teen-friendly and welcoming.”

Many of the Dayton Metro Library Branches have their own Teen Advisory Boards, but Moser says this new Board will focus on programs and services that have system-wide impact.

“Ideally, I’d like to have one or two teens from each of our Branch areas, up to 35 or 40 teens on our DML-TAB,” said Moser.

Plans call for the new DML-TAB to meet in January, April, July, and October. Teens can earn community service hours for their time.
