The Rockin’ Rollies Band is geared up for a free, family-friendly performance at the Trotwood Branch of the Dayton Metro Library on Tuesday, July 17, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. The Rockin' Rollies perform zany tunes and sing-a-long standards that children and families will enjoy.
“I am so excited about this performance because children will have the opportunity to see a live band perform especially for them,” said Dani Gustavich, Trotwood Children’s Librarian. “It’s perfect for our LIBRARIES ROCK Summer Challenge theme.”
Rockin' Rollies was established by Melissa and Eric Henry, who performed throughout the Miami Valley as the blues ensemble Miss Lissa & Company, winners of the 2011 Cincy Blues Challenge. After becoming parents, the Henrys decided to expand their musical vocabulary. They are joined by Max B. Greene on vocals and Khrys Blank on percussion.
“While they made a name for themselves performing for adults, now they are rocking out to children’s songs, and songs inspired by children’s books,” said Gustavich. Children will be encouraged to sing, dance, and participate by playing instruments, which will be provided for them to use.
The concert will be held outdoors, weather permitting (indoors in case of rain), at the Trotwood Branch Library, 651 E Main Street. It is free and open to the public; all ages are welcome.
