The Wind in the Woods Early Music Ensemble will "Rock the Renaissance" at the Kettering-Moraine Branch of the Dayton Metro Library on Thursday, June 21, at 4:00 p.m. The free concert is a featured event during the LIBRARIES ROCK Summer Challenge.
“The Early Music Ensemble performs the ultimate golden oldies,” said Jenelle Allen, Teen Services Librarian. “These are the dance tunes and popular songs Shakespeare may have hummed as he penned Romeo and Juliet.”
The concert is open to all ages, and includes a bit of Elizabethan dance instruction.
“This light-hearted program will prepare the audience, should they choose to time-travel to sixteenth century England,” said Margaret Erin, Director of the Wind in the Woods Early Music Ensemble. “You can hear popular love songs and dance music of the time, learn how to dance the Pavan, and expand your vocabulary with some Elizabethan slang words.”
“Rock the Renaissance” is free and open to all ages at the Kettering-Moraine Branch Library, 3496 Far Hills Avenue.
