The Dayton Metro Library in downtown Dayton is the site of Summer Stock 2018, a two-week summer theatre camp for boys and girls presented by The Human Race Theatre Company. The camp runs June 11-23, and culminates in a free, public performance of A Wrinkle In Time on Saturday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Library’s Eichelberger Forum, 215 E. Third Street.
Under the direction of Jake Lockwood, camp participants age 10-15 will produce every aspect of the one-act stage adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle’s classic children’s novel.
“With a hands-on approach, the students will work with Jake and other local artists to craft and design every aspect of the show, then ultimately perform the piece for the public at the Library,” said Kevin Moore, President and Artistic Director of The Human Race Theatre Company.
Visitors are welcome to observe the camp in action in the Main Library, Opportunity Space @ St. Clair on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 19 and 20, 1:00-2:00 p.m. For more information, contact the Dayton Metro Library at (937) 463-2665 or the Human Race Theatre Company at 937.461.3823.
