Wilmington-Stroop Branch Library to Close for Construction

The Wilmington-Stroop Branch of the Dayton Metro Library is the next facility to be rebuilt in the Libraries for a Smarter Future plan. The Library, located at 3980 Wilmington Pike, closes to the public at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16. A new building, situated closer to the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Stroop Road, is anticipated to open in the Spring of 2019.

“We want to thank our community members for their wonderful patronage at the Wilmington-Stroop Branch Library and we look forward to joining them on Opening Day for the new facility,” says Mike Hensel, Branch Manager.  In the meantime, Hensel and the Wilmington-Stroop Branch staff encourage their patrons to utilize the neighboring Branches where many of the staff will be working during the construction period.

The Kettering-Moraine Branch is located at 3496 Far Hills Avenue, and the Belmont Branch at 1041 Watervliet Avenue. Some of the regular Wilmington-Stroop Branch Library programs, including Storytimes and Book Discussions, will take place at the Rosewood Arts Centre, 2655 Olson Drive in Kettering.
