Career in Manufacturing: Program and Exhibits at Northwest Branch Library

There are unfilled jobs in manufacturing, and there are parents who want to see their children find successful careers. A program sponsored by the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA) seeks to address these two interests. “Careers in Manufacturing: Parents Night” on Wednesday, September 20, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Northwest Branch of the Dayton Metro Library, is an opportunity for parents to learn about opportunities in the manufacturing industry here in the Miami Valley. The program is held in conjunction with a DRMA exhibit on display at the Northwest Branch Library, September 18 through October 6.

“Twenty-first century manufacturing is about clean, high-tech and fast-paced work environments,” said Angelia Erbaugh, DRMA President. “Employees work with some of the most advanced technologies that create the products we each use every day. We invite parents to learn about the occupations, wages, benefits, and training and education paths available for their children.”

Tim O’Meara with Gem City Engineering and Jim Zahora with Noble Tool will lead the Parents Night program at the Library, located at 2410 Philadelphia Drive. Light refreshments will be served and $300 worth of Kroger Gift Cards will be raffled as door prizes.  The program is free, but advance registration is required at or call 937.949.4000.
