STEM Summer Learning

at the Dayton Metro Library

summerThe Dayton Metro Library’s Summer Challenge offers many free, hands-on experiences to keep kids engaged in learning during the summer months. With the theme Build A Better World, STEM-based activities are emphasized.

The Armstrong Air and Space Museum has created programs to specifically align with our Summer Challenge theme,” said Tish Wilson, Chair of the system-wide Summer Challenge Committee. “Kids can work on creating a habitable planet using recyclable materials, or build a tower that can withstand a load-bearing test. These programs are fun, and they’re also learning in action.”

The Library’s Summer Challenge rewards kids and teens who keep track of the time they spend reading and the Library programs they attend. Partnering with providers such as the Armstrong Air and Space Museum allows the Library to offer quality educational experiences free of charge during the summer months.

All programs are free and open to the public. Some programs do require advance registration. For more information, visit the online Events Calendar at DaytonMetroLibrary.org or call (937) 463-BOOK.
