Insights for Women in Business

Presented by Dayton Metro Library
SCORE and the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce

The Dayton Metro Library joins with SCORE and the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce to present the second Insights For Women in Business event on Friday, March 10, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Featured speaker Marie Cosgrove discusses the importance of persistence and her own experiences persevering through trying times. The program, held at the Montgomery County Business Solutions Center, is free but advance registration is required.

Marie Cosgrove“Our event allows participants to enjoy lunch away from their desks while they are inspired by a powerful message shared by the dynamic Marie Cosgrove,” said Ann Riegle-Crichton, Dayton Metro Library’s Business Services Librarian.

Cosgrove is an entrepreneur, investor and international speaker who serves as CEO of balanceback, the world’s leading manufacturer of diagnostic and treatment devices for dizziness, concussions and traumatic brain injuries. She survived a difficult upbringing, singlehandedly raised four children and was at one time homeless. Her journey took her from being a number one national sales rep, to being fired, to becoming CEO of the same company and taking it international. She will share her hard-earned strategies for embracing failure on the road to success.

“Marie inspires those who hear her message to move past the perceived obstacles of ethnicity, gender, economic status in order to be a strong, successful female business owner,” said Riegle-Crichton.

The Insights partnership between DML, SCORE and the Dayton Chamber is intended to educate, inspire and support female entrepreneurs and business owners in the region.

“Participants had only positive comments to share after our debut event in October, and we're hoping to see the program continue to grow and flourish,” said Riegle-Crichton.

Insights for Women in Business takes place at the Montgomery County Business Solutions Center, 1435 Cincinnati Street in Dayton. It is free, including lunch (sponsored by Dayton SCORE) but registration is required. Register online at For more information, contact Ann Riegle-Crichton at or call 937.463.BOOK.
