Opportunity Spaces in expanded, remodeled Dayton Metro Library locations create new opportunities for long-term exhibits and related programs. Coming up in September at the Miami Township Branch, located at 2718 Lyons Road:
SYRIA IN OUR EYES: Artwork by Syrian Children | 9/12 - 10/1
According to UNICEF, Syria is one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a child. The artwork in this exhibit was created by children, mostly ages 7-9, living in a war zone.
“The exhibit presents art pieces, cards, canvas and quilting by Syrian children who are suffering under the brutal war,” said Centerville resident Beth Salama, who coordinated the exhibit along with her daughters as part of an ongoing exchange with American students.
PINWHEELS FOR PEACE | 9/1 - 9/20
Drop in and make a pinwheel, then add it to the collection for display outdoors on International Peace Day, September 21. All supplies provided and all ages are welcome.
Exhibits and activities are free and open to the public during regular Library hours:
MON, TUE, THUR | 9:30 AM-8:30 PM
WED, FRI, SAT | 9:30 AM-6 PM
