NY-Based Artist Michael Albert Leads POP Art Sessions for Teens

at Three Dayton Metro Library Branches

michaelalbertDayton area teens have the opportunity to meet and work with a celebrated New York artist at the Dayton Metro Library. Prolific artist and author Michael Albert brings his Modern Pop Art Experience for teens to the Miamisburg, West Carrollton and Temporary Main Library locations this month. The hands-on workshop is free and includes all the supplies needed as well as small art gifts for the participants.

During his Modern Pop Art Experience, Albert discusses his artistic development with numerous examples, then leads a hands-on “Cereal Box Collage” workshop. Albert is best known for turning consumer packaging into colorful, original artwork he refers to as “Cerealism.” His book, An Artist’s America, was published in 2008.

TEMPORARY MAIN LIBRARY, 120 S. Patterson Boulevard, downtown Dayton
            Tuesday, June 21, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

MIAMISBURG BRANCH, 35 S. Fifth Street, Miamisburg
            Tuesday, June 21, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

WEST CARROLLTON BRANCH, 300 E. Central Avenue
            Wednesday, June 22, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
