FANDOMFEST: A Celebration for Teens at the New Northwest Branch Library

For teens who like ComicCon, fanfic or cosplay and have a passion for any particular movie, TV series or book, the Dayton Metro Library hosts FANDOMFEST. This free celebration for fans of all kinds takes place Saturday, June 4, 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the new Northwest Branch Library, 2410 Philadelphia Drive in Dayton.

“There will be something for everyone and all fandoms are welcome,” said Steve Moser, Teen Services Coordinator. “Whatever makes you geek out is what this day is all about!”

Events include a costume contest, a fan art station, video games, tabletop gaming, trivia and a scavenger hunt.

“We’ll play Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock from the Big Bang Theory,” said Moser. “There’s also a build your own costume challenge, where teens will work in groups to create costumes on the spot with limited supplies and time.”

The event is free and open to teens in grades 7-12.

“Teens will also be able to explore our brand new Northwest Branch Library, try out the awesome gaming equipment and the recording and editing suite too,” said Moser.

Attendance at this and other Library programs counts toward Summer Challenge goals. For more information, visit the Events Calendar or call (937) 463-BOOK.
