Photoshop is a powerful tool that lets the user manipulate and correct photo images. Learn how to use this popular software at the "Beginning Adobe Photoshop Series" at the Kettering-Moraine and Wilmington-Stroop Branches of the Dayton Metro Library. Each class takes place on Monday evenings, 6:30-8:00 p.m. and is taught by Mark Cela of Mark Cela Graphics.

Introduction to Photoshop
Monday, March 30, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wilmington-Stroop. An introduction to the basic concepts and uses of Adobe Photoshop. Learn basic layout and the function of several essential menus and windows.
Layers and Selections in Adobe Photoshop
Monday, April 6, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Kettering-Moraine. Covers the most basic and critical concepts of Adobe Photoshop: the selection. Get a detailed overview of layers, with examples from actual artwork and photography.
Digital Retouching Basics
Monday, April 13, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Kettering-Moraine. This class covers the removal of blemishes from the model's skin and how to crop and resize images.
Painting in Adobe Photoshop
Monday, April 20, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wilmington-Stroop. Learn the basic principles of painting in Adobe Photoshop. Topics include rendering flat-shaded objects to appear three-dimensional and basic use of the Brush Window.
Color Correcting Images
Monday, April /27, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wilmington-Stroop. This session focuses on basic color concepts and how they apply to photography and Photoshop. Contrast and color adjustment of images will be demonstrated.
