Wireless printing has arrived at the Dayton Metro Library! Wireless printing allows individuals to print from their tablet, laptop or smartphone from inside the Library or remotely from virtually anywhere.
"This expansion of our printing service gives our patrons the ability to print from their own devices whether inside or outside of the Library," said Barb Kuhns, Assistant Director for Technology Services at the Library. "Anyone with a WiFi or Internet connection can print directly from their device to the Library of their choice and not have to use the public computers," she said.
Each Dayton Metro Library location allows patrons to choose from either black and white or color printer options. Patrons choose which printer to send their email or document to, and then retrieve the print job at their convenience. Printing in black and white costs 10 cents per page, color is 25 cents per page.
The free PrinterOn app from Apple iTunes or the Google Play Store can be installed to facilitate wireless printing.
"Wireless printing makes printing on the go so convenient," said Kuhns. "For example, you can print your boarding pass on the way to the airport, or your resume on the way to your job interview."
Most common formats are printable, including Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and many graphic formats, which can be printed via email, online at the Library's website, or using the app.
