The Dayton area is becoming a center for quality microbrew pubs, and home brewing is growing in popularity nationwide. The Wilmington-Stroop Branch of the Dayton Metro Library hosts two programs exploring the home brewing hobby with presenters from Miami Valley BrewTensils.
Part One on Monday, October 13, is a four-hour exploration of the basics of home brewing, 4:00-8:00 p.m. Learn about ingredients and styles while a five-gallon batch brews.
Return on Monday, October 27, 6:00-8:00 p.m. for the second part of the microbrewing program – bottling. Participants can bottle their own to take home.
"We are excited to offer this new program and hope that people are eager to learn more about home brewing as a hobby," said Cara Kouse, Manager of the Wilmington-Stroop Branch Library.
The programs are free but space is limited and advance registration is required by calling the Wilmington-Stroop Branch Library at 937-496-8966. The Library is located at 3980 Wilmington Pike in Kettering. Participants must be over 21 to participate, and attendance at Part One is a prerequisite for attendance at Part Two.
