Bicyclists are a common sight in Miamisburg, as the Great Miami Bike Trail passes through the heart of historic Miamisburg. Now cyclists can enjoy a stop at the Miamisburg Branch Library, officially designated a Bike Friendly Business in the city.
As a Bike Friendly Business, the Library offers free water, public restrooms, bicycle parking and bike trail resources. Bikeways guides and trail maps are available at the Library, located at 35 S. Fifth Street at Library Park.
"The library is a great place to take a break from a bike ride," said Brielle Maynor, Manager of the Miamisburg Branch Library. "Riders can fill their bike baskets with the latest books, movies, and music, catch up with neighbors, enjoy one of our programs, sit with the paper, or use our Wi-Fi before setting off again on the trails."
The Bike Friendly Business Initiative is a partnership between the City of Miamisburg and the Miami Conservancy District. Signage along the bike trail lists nearby Bike Friendly Businesses for the convenience of cyclists.
"We are excited to roll out the Bike Friendly Business program in the downtown area, and the businesses are ready to embrace to a new level this wonderful amenity sitting in their backyard," said Katie Frank, Downtown Development Coordinator for the City of Miamisburg.
