If you find there are skills you would like to brush up on or need a refresher in, the library subscribes to a database called Learning Express Library that may help. You can access our databases through the Research & Databases link on the left side of our website. Click on One Search to get to the alphabetical list of databases and look for Learning Express Library. You will need to enter your zip code if you are accessing the database from outside the library.
Once you are in the database, you will also need to create your own personal login for Learning Express Library. With this personal login, you will be able to keep track of the tests and tutorials that you have taken or started in Learning Express Library. If you are taking a practice test that would normally be timed, the database offers a timer so you can gauge how quickly you are able to move through the test. Also, if you start a test but don't have time to finish it in one session, you will be able to come back to it later and pick up where you have left off, or you can choose to start it from the beginning again.
Learning Express Library offers many career-related practice tests in areas that include civil service, CDL, cosmetology, law enforcement, teaching, and several others. It also offers practice for basic math and writing skills, job search skills, and tutorials in Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 products such as Word and Excel.
