Progress on a larger, updated Library on Linden Avenue at Sixth Street, about two blocks from the current building. Miamisburg City School and Dayton Metro Library officials are working together to improve the area stretching from the former Wantz Middle School to the lot where the old high school once stood. The initial site plan includes increased parking for the Library as well as the addition of formal green space.
The Bell High School memorial will be relocated near the entrance to the new Library.
The project is part of the Libraries for a Smarter Future system-wide facilities upgrade, made possible by strong voter support of a bond issue in 2012. the grand opening is slated for mid-February 2017.
