Overdrive eBooks Now Aviable for the KINDLE! The Dayton Metro Library is pleased to announce that its ebook collection is now compatible with the most popular ebook reader, the Amazon Kindle. Patrons can download popular and classic ebooks to a Kindle device or any mobile device running the free Kindle app, such as iPhone, iPad, Android, and more. To get started, click on “Downloadable Digital Media” on the upper right hand side of the screen.
Kindle users can now browse from a PC or Mac computer, check out titles using a library card, and select “Get for Kindle” to deliver eBooks to their Kindle device or any device running the free Kindle app. The Dayton Metro Library also offers ebooks and audiobooks for use on a PC or Mac computer and popular mobile devices such as a smartphone, MP3 player, and ebook reader like the Nook and Sony Reader.
“The library is anticipating a high demand for ebooks,” said Jean Gaffney, manager of the library’s Office of Collection Development. “The library will continue to build its ebook collection, so keep checking back for more titles.” E-Readers: A Guide
E-Readers and tablet computers are the preferred method of reading for a growing number of book enthusiasts. If you have been thinking about hopping in the digital reading pool, but don’t know the difference between a Nook and a Kindle, this is a great place to start.
