African American History

If you want to expose your preschooler to African-American history, it is well to find stories of perseverance and grit being rewarded. Although their understanding of time is still developing, young children will understand stories of not getting what you want and fighting for fairness. The following books tell true stories of people in history who encountered prejudice but with talent, hard work and grit, they ultimately triumphed.
