Teaching Children about Germs

The concept of germs is abstract for young children but health experts recommend giving children explanations as to why we wash our hands and cover our mouths when we sneeze or cough.  The explanations behind these basic hygiene practices can help them become more germ-conscious.  The illustrations in the following picture books will make the idea of ‘germs’ more concrete:
