Children love to hear their favorite stories over and over again and the repetition helps them to learn new words, complex sentence structure and leads to them being able to tell you the story. A great way to engage your preschooler is to pull out a familiar book and ask your child to tell it to you. Continue with the routine of asking them questions as they tell the story. You know you’re on the right track, when your child asks you to relate your own experiences to a story or to make a prediction about what will happen next.
