The Seeds of Stewardship

Nature educators tell us that children who spend time playing outdoors in natural environments are more likely to grow up to be stewards of the environment. The positive effect works both ways: there is a growing consensus that children who spend time in nature are happier, calmer, and more focused. A great way to get your child connected to nature and enjoying books is to join the Get Outside Book Club. Stop by a library to pick up a brochure to keep track of your activities.
