Many studies have shown that children learn more effectively when adults engage them in activities that are based on their interests. Parents and other caregivers can take advantage of the interest children have in dinosaurs to teach them skills that help them get ready for school success. Take some time to observe your child playing with dinosaurs and talk to him about what he knows and finds interesting. Join in on your child’s play with toy dinosaurs to get conversations flowing, counting, sorting and storytelling.
