Be sure to go outside on any clear night this week and look for the moon. It has been beautiful and bright the last two nights and observable at a reasonable time.
I see the moon and the moon sees me is a perfect book to read after an evening of moon watching. Jonathon London has adapted the nursery rhyme to include various other sights and sounds outside (trees waving, bees buzzing, etc.) and Peter Fiore's illustrations capture the beauty and pleasure of being outside in nature.
"Because the natural world is filled with beautiful sights, sounds, and textures, it's the perfect resource for the development of aesthetics in young children." (Take it outside by Rae Pica) |
