With lots of repetitive text, it won't be long before your preschooler is saying the words: "But Squirrel couldn't...He was so busy!" right along with you.  This type of experience helps to build your child's awareness of print.  Point to the words as you both say them together; this builds the awareness that print is read from left to right.
