With all the equipment and tools needed to tear down a building and then build a house, The Construction Crew by Lynn Meltzer is a good choice to read to your truck-loving preschooler.  Meltzer uses spare but informative text that rhymes on each page.  Repeated readings may have the result that your child learns the names of the machinery and the rhyming pairs.  Pause expectantly at the end of each section to see if your child can fill in the missing word:
