Squirrel has never seen snow, so he decides to keep himself awake and delay hibernating. But it's very boring and he's very sleepy. His efforts to keep himself occupied waken hedghog and bear, who also decide they'd like to see snow. With it's limited text and interesting pictures, Waiting for winter provides lots of opportunities for your child to talk about what's happening and make predictions about what will happen next. Let your child tell as much of the story as they can. This type of conversation about a book, is a key to literacy growth. (Dialogic Reading)
