In order to provide the highest level of service the Dayton Metro Library (DML) is committed to hiring dedicated professional staff members. Employee Benefits

The Dayton Metro Library offers more than a paycheck.  We offer an attractive benefit package that is dependent upon your position classification and the number of hours worked per week.

Regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for the following:

Bus Passes and Parking Reimbursement

  • Up to thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per month toward a bus pass
  • Up to thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per month toward qualifying parking fees

Deferred Compensation Program

  • Employee contributory supplemental retirement investment on a payroll deduction basis
  • Direct payroll deductions available

Employee Assistance Program

  • Confidential short-term counseling or problem solving and referral to appropriate services

Holidays

  • Eleven annual paid holidays

Insurance

  • Hospital, and major medical

Personal Days

  • Minimum of one annual personal day for eligible staff members

Professional Affiliations

  • 100% of basic membership fee for the Ohio Library Council
  • Minimum of 50% of basic membership fees for the American Library Association
  • Memberships in other job related professional associations as approved

Sick Leave

  • 120 hours of annual sick leave for full-time employees (pro-rated for part-time staff)
  • No maximum sick leave accrual
  • Sick leave bank
  • Sick leave incentives

Tuition Reimbursement

  • Tuition Reimbursement for qualifying job related course work

Vacation

  • 10-22 vacation days annually depending upon length of service or professional status

Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS)

  • Contributions equal to 13.7% of each employee’s salary are paid to OPERS by the Library.

Unemployment Compensation

  • Unemployment insurance at no cost to library employees

Worker’s Compensation

  • Payment for medical and/or lost wages through the Bureau of Workers Compensation
