Do you enjoy imaginative books that make you think? Books that are a quick read? Perhaps artistic books that invite repeated browsing? Frank Warren's PostSecret books will pull you in, make you laugh, make you cry, and certainly leave you wondering. The project actually began with a dream and an interactive art project in 2004. Postcards were printed and handed out or left in public places with an invitation to anonymously share a secret. The Secret had to be something that was true and something that the participant had never told anyone. Every Secret has a story behind it. As the reader, you can imagine the stories and meaning behind the secrets. Once shared, the secrets may promote healing in the writers and may provide inspiration to the readers. There are five PostSecret books available at Dayton Metro Library.
The Secret Lives of Men and Women: A PostSecret Book
A Lifetime of Secrets: A PostSecret Book
Confessions on Life, Death, & God
In addition to the published books, there is an active online PostSecret community which can be found at www.postsecretcommunity.com |
